Spiritual Awakenings – Women in the New Age

December 17th, 2007 . by pjbou

With “Eat, Pray, Love,” by Elizabeth Gilbert, topping the New York Times Best Seller List, and “The Secret” still creating a sensation around the country, there’s little doubt that women are on an individual and collective journey to discern their life’s purpose and awaken their spirituality. Although women continue to believe and participate in traditional religious practices, it’s clear that many women are seeking tools that help them define themselves and inspire them to live the best life possible.

New Age or a Certain Age?

While about 20 percent of women identify with one or more elements of the New Age movement, a much higher percentage are on metaphysical quests – even though they might not define them as such. If you were to break down the demographics, the pattern that emerges is a snapshot of a woman over 40 who has spent most of her life excelling in her career, taking care of her husband and children, or both. It seems as though women of a certain age begin to question their assumptions about their lives, reflecting upon careers spent trying to get ahead and caregiving roles that might not fit as comfortably as they once did.

Taking Stock and Stepping Out

What triggers women to step outside of their lives and critically assess where they’ve been and where they’re going? Perhaps, like Gilbert, they are coming out of a divorce and trying to build a new life. Maybe their children are all in college or married, and they need to redefine themselves. It could be that a parent has died, and they are faced with their own mortality. Rather than the hackneyed “mid-life crisis,” these women are experiencing a “mid-life assessment.” They might have a deeper understanding of who they are, their dreams may have come more clearly into focus, and perhaps they are better able to articulate their priorities. Above all, they are open to utilizing all available tools to help them both achieve their goals and achieve inner peace. Read the rest of this entry »

Feel Empowered Now – How to Use Visualization Imagery to tap Into Source Energy

December 13th, 2007 . by pjbou

1. Prepare. Find a quiet place and get comfortable: that’s the first thing you need to do in order to use visualization imagery to manifest your desires. Take a deep breath in and really breathe in as much oxygen as you possibly can. Hold it for a few seconds and then exhale… and as you let each breath go, imagine that you’re releasing all the thoughts you’ve been holding onto – all the thoughts that currently occupy your mind. Just let it all go. Allow all thoughts to float away with each exhaled breath.

2. Relax. Being able to relax is an essential requirement of effective visualization imagery. If you cannot get yourself to relax, you cannot gain the full benefit of a visualization session. Relaxation is the key. You want to get as deeply relaxed as possible. Even if you’ve only got five minutes, strive to reach a deeper level of relaxation each time and the effects of your visualization imagery will be that much more profound.

3. Use power affirmations. Once you’ve got yourself to a calm and peaceful state of mind, it’s time to use some empowering affirmations. Affirmations help to get connected and to reinforce that connection with Source Energy.

Begin with simple affirmation statements such as: I am peace… I am harmony… I and balanced… I am healthy… I am love… I am grateful… I am happy… I am filled with unlimited energy and power.

Just allow yourself to feel the energy of this powerful connection. Allow it to take hold of you flow through your entire body. See in your mind’s eye, this vast universal power you have at your disposal. Bathe in this positive, loving, light energy as it washes down over you. You should feel noticeably stronger and more empowered than you did before.

4. Notice how you feel. If you play full on and let it happen, you can actually feel this energy as it moves in, around and through your body. You may notice it as a powerful surging force. Or you might see it as a pure white light that’s pouring over you. Some tend to feel it as love. Just remember that however you receive, what you’re feeling is energy.

Just imagine that you’re tapping into a higher power. Know that you are part of this Source Energy and that visualization imagery is what enables you to tap into its flow — whenever you want. Allow it to happen. Don’t try to force anything. Just allow this beautiful, powerful, never ending energy to circulate.

5. Appreciate the energy. Love it. Feel deep gratitude for it and know that it’s yours to use at any moment in time. You’ve tapped in and you’re turned on. You’ve made the connection to the divine. Just allow yourself to receive it in whatever way it comes.

When you value it and appreciate it, Source Energy will continue to serve. The more often use visualization imagery where you tap into infinite source energy — the stronger access it on demand. It’s always there, and the more you use it, the more you’ll see wonderful things happening in your life as a result of you tapping into this higher vibration.

6. Look for clues and insights. As you notice your energy escalating to new heights, what you want to do here at this point is to pay attention to the signals, ideas, insights, solutions to a problem as they suddenly appear. You may get the answer to a pressing problem during your visualization, or may come at some point later. But the trick is to simply become aware of the signals as they are presented. Be open to ideas of all sizes and shapes and be sure to capture them by writing them down or by using a digital recorder. Act quickly, so the idea doesn’t escape you.

Visualization imagery allows you to connect with Source Energy. Value this unlimited source of supply and your connection to it. Love it, respect it, cherish it and it will become your greatest ally, helping you make your dreams come true.

Now that you understand the basics, here’s how to make visualization imagery work for you automatically. Just pop in the CD of your choice and follow along. You’ll be gently led on a guided visualization, designed to help you use Source Energy to go from where you are now to wherever you desire.

Connecting With Your Source Opens Your Spiritual Eyes

December 12th, 2007 . by pjbou

Part of the problem in believing that you are a separate entity is that you are kind of out there on your own. It is you against the world and so the “survival of the fittest” mentality plays so well given the idea that you are separate.

You can’t depend on or refer to any other source external to you for your own unique situations without some element of doubt as to the sincerity of their help. In other words you don’t trust anybody but yourself, and you’re not all that sure that you can trust yourself. You have been disappointed many times by the consequences of your actions and wonder why you do some of the things you do.

You have tried going to God, who is separate from you, for answers but you are unclear as to where God stands on your particular issues. When you beseech him with prayer, you often encounter a deadly silence, and when you flat out tell him what you want it never seems to manifest itself in your reality. You can shake your fist at the heavens and rant and rave about your problems but all you end up with is a sore throat.

You have tried listening to the words of your friends and family, but you come to the realization that most of them seem to have bigger problems than you do and if they truly do have any wisdom to impart to you then why aren’t they wise enough to use it on themselves and fix their own problems.

You have listened to what you think are combined sources of wisdom from television or books and gleaned some ideas, but you are not sure that these ideas will serve you well. You find yourself floundering in a sea of indecision because you have no source reference for what is true to you.

The separation that you believe exists between you and all other things, including God, has left you with a loneliness that permeates your being. It is hard and lonely living within the paradigm of separation.

Try to think of a place where it would never be dark. The only place that really fits that description would be the sun. Why? Because the sun is the source of all light.

Within the paradigm of unity and oneness we understand that God is the source of all that is and at God’s core is love. So love is the source of all that is. We are created in the image and likeness of God and at our core is love. Who we really are is love, and love is the source of all that is.

So when we want to go to our source all we need to do is go within ourselves to find it. It is not external to us. It is within us and it always has been and always will be. We can tap into our source any time we want merely by going within.

The pure love that resides within each and every one of us is available to us at all times. You just need to be awake and aware of its existence. If you are sleepwalking you could spend your whole life in fear, hate and anger and never be aware that the source to cure all of these ills is within you. Instead, you look to the world external from yourself for the answers to all of life’s problems. Then you do this, and you do that, in an attempt to bring peace and resolution to the problems that confront you.

The solution to your problems can be had as easily as closing your eyes and instead of listening to all the noise and distractions of your external world, you seek the silence of the world within you. Instead of fussing and quarreling with all the thoughts running through your head, you let the thoughts go away and begin to contemplate the stillness of inner peace. Instead of being separate from your God, you feel the oneness between the temporal, temporary being that you are, as you inhabit this planet, and connect with the God source from which you are born. Instead of living in the illusion of the world of the relative, you begin to know yourself in the reality of the world of the absolute.

It is from the world of the absolute that all things are known to you. You are not restricted by the voluntary amnesia that you agreed to when you entered this physical plane called earth. This is who you really are. An all-knowing being that plays this wonderful game of life for the purpose of knowing experientially all that you know conceptually.

Choice and Consciousness is a Very Spiritual Partnership

October 10th, 2007 . by PJ

Every day your head is filled with thoughts. Every day you must make decisions about what thoughts to pursue and what thoughts to ignore.

We live in a world of choice. Sometimes we are conditioned to think that we don’t have any choice in certain matters but we always do.  We have choice in every thought and therefore every creation that shows up in our lives. The choices you make determines who you define yourself to be and who you are in relationship to the rest of your environment. You might even say you chose your environment. You chose it and you created it.   Does it serve you?

Acceptance Is Being Spiritually Awaken

October 10th, 2007 . by PJ

by Richard Blackstone

Acceptance of the people, places, events and experiences of your life allows those people, places, events, and experiences to serve you. You are not limiting their potential by labeling them. You are allowing the full power they possess to come through to you and reveal how they truly fit into your creations.

As you judge others, you are really judging those aspects of yourself that you see reflected in others. So what you are really doing is judging yourself. Usually judging yourself harshly and unaware of it, because judging is an act of living unconsciously. One might say you are sleepwalking.
