Reconnect From Within

Realize and appreciate every moment as perfect because your higher self has chosen everything and it is all happening in divine order and divine timing. You higher self sees the bigger picture and has decided on the best possible experience for you to have. You don’t have to worry that things are not going the way they were meant to go or regret that things are going in a different direction because of what you did. You connect back to the direction of your source the moment you realize that it is in control.

You came into this world with a purpose that was chosen by your higher self, the aspect of you which is one with God. You were specially designed for the fulfillment of it. Your life conditions that you were born into were also specially chosen as part of that purpose. Your innate personality traits, talents and physical qualities were also given for the work you were meant to do. When you want to listen to a particular radio station, you tune your radio to that station, tuning in to a particular frequency. Same when you want to watch a particular show on TV. It is the frequency you tune into that determines what you hear and what you see.

Our brains operate in very much the same way, except that we have only two stations we can tune into – the ego station and the higher-self station.

The ego station is the station that originates in the programmed mind, which contains all our limiting beliefs that create our fears. The ego station is our wounded self, our false self – the protected self we learned to be as we were growing up and needed to find ways to have control over getting love, avoiding pain, and feeling safe. Our ego wounded self is a closed circuit – it operates on old information that we acquired as we were growing up, information that is no longer relevant or even true. You can benefit from regular periods of introspection to reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. As you relax and unwind in solitude, you can develop a deeper relationship with the voice of your soul.

It is important to spend time alone to give yourself the foundation you need to reconnect with who you truly are. It seems that there is seldom enough time to do what one needs to do.  No matter what your obligations to others, you need to take time for yourself—to hear the quite inner voice that is an expression of your soul. You listen to the Heart with something other than your ears. You listen with your awareness. What are you aware of now? You listen for (pay attention to) what is present now and arising now in the moment. You give your attention to what is, which may include a thought, but you don’t give your attention away to that thought. You notice it and then you notice what else is present. The Heart will communicate to you in this moment. What it has to say will be already present in the moment or arising in the moment. If you are busy thinking, you will miss its subtle, nonverbal communication because your attention will be elsewhere.

Compared to thoughts, the Heart communicates softly and unobtrusively. It doesn’t shout at you to get your attention. It doesn’t scare you or bully you or flatter you to get your attention. It just speaks the truth, and when you hear its truth, you know it because it rings true. But often, what it says gets lost in the noise of the mind. You experience it, not as words, but as energy: You sense your energy expanding, which feels joyful; you feel spontaneously moved to do something, which feels exciting; or you feel a sudden ah-ha, and some understanding or knowing clicks into place. Your spiritual growth continually leads you to spirituality information about awareness. Your thoughts and the law of attraction determine whether you are live your life from a love based belief system or a fear based belief system.

Once you start living within the love-based belief system of unity and oneness, everything in your life starts to smooth out because you are living in harmony with the true nature of your beingness. Of course that means that you are living in harmony with love. Living in love allows you to align yourself with the true nature of the universe to create the life that you truly desire in an effortless manner.

Once again we see that there is a particular dichotomy about life that holds true. The easier choice that you make turns out to be harder in the end and the harder choice turns out to be easier in the end. So, should we be basing our decisions on what seems to be the easy way, or should we be basing our decisions on what the natural consequences of our choices ends up as our experience? During chapter 2 of the online discussion of A New Earth, Oprah and Eckhart Tolle discuss overcoming the ego in us.

Eckhart said, “In many cases the ego actually dislikes the present moment. So if you can make the present moment into the primary focal point of your life, then ego will very quickly diminish in you. Because it cannot survive the present moment.”

Undoubtedly being present is most pleasant, fun, and fulfilling. Our ego however is continually restless, conniving, and lusting for attention. It speaks incessantly, desiring to be heard, and recognized.

Eckhart mentioned, “People who are possessed by the ego live as if the present moment were their enemy. They’re stressed. They want to get somewhere else.” Read the rest of this entry »

During Oprah and Eckhart Tolle’s online class covering chapter 2 of the book A New Earth, the two discussed thought processes.

A caller named Heather from Vancouver Island, Canada by way of skype asked: “When we get free of the ego, where does that energy go?”

Oprah replied, “Good question.”

Eckhart answered: “The ego basically consists of compulsive, conditioned thought processes. So we are not aware of, so we identify so closely with our stream of thinking that we don’t even know that we are thinking. So all of this energy is used up in continuous, to a large extent, useless thinking. Even psychologists have found out (even psychologists who are not that interested in spiritual things), they looked at the nature of human thought and discovered that 98 or 99% of our thoughts are quite useless and repetitive.
