When in doubt, listen to your heart. Don’t allow mental concepts, beliefs, or assumptions that are not based on love to dictate your behaviour. You are the source of love. The love inside you is abundant and eternal. You don’t need to beg, control, or compromise in order to be loved.

The more you focus on love and gratitude, the more you will be surrounded by love. If you complain, blame, and dwell on fear, you’ll attract others who are also resentful, angry, and fearful. Love knows no borders and no boundaries. Love includes everyone and everything.

Love takes no position, rising above separation. Find unity within by resolving the conflicts inside yourself and you won’t have to act them out with another.
Let telling the truth about who you are and what you are feeling and thinking be your foundation.

Vulnerable self-disclosure allows for empathy and understanding. The more truth is shared the more love grows.

Love is a state of consciousness available only when you’re willing to relinquish your defences. Protection is a barrier to love.
Love cannot be given or taken but it can be shared. The vibration of love in you is often stimulated when you come into contact with one who carries it.
It’s ok to make mistakes. Very few humans are able to love perfectly. Forgive yourself and others generously and you will experience such a shift of energy.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself”.  We often have a programme running that we are not even aware of, which is protecting ourselves with fear.

One of the reasons we become so fearful, is that we have  programmed with the habit of Protecting Ourselves with Fear. .

The law of love ensures that you see this universal truth.  You cannot leave an experience permanently unless you exit with love and allowance.

That is why people tend to keep repeating the same types of patterns; until the day they stop resisting, and instead embrace it with love.

This could be a money, health or relationship issue. You cannot leave a situation permanently until you exit it with love. You cannot permanent.

WHAT IS LOVE?  Love is energy. It is the foundation of all things. It is acknowledging that there is no separation. Love is expansive.

Anything that puts you in touch with your knowing opens the Heart.

In Part I we talked about who our Higher Self/True Self is, how it manifests itself and what it does.  In Part II we will begin to explore how we can discern the difference between the thoughts and voices of our Higher Self and those of our Ego. 

Our Higher Self sees through the eyes of Oneness while our Ego sees through the eyes of separation and specialness.  Our Higher Self is a source of Oneness and connects us to our True Self.  The Ego is a source of duality, conflict and disconnects us from our True Self.  Our Higher Self sees prosperity and unlimited abundance while the Ego sees scarcity, lack and limited abundance.  If our life experience is full of peace and joy, we are opening to the thoughts of our authentic, united True Self.  When we are not experiencing peace in our life, or if we find ourselves blaming someone or something in the world for our discomfort, we are making the Ego thought system real in our mind.  Our Higher Self sees us as innocent while the Ego sees us as guilty. 

What eyes are you seeing your world through – the eyes of your True Self or the eyes of your Ego?  What eyes would you prefer to see the world from?  Remember that it is our choice how we experience our world.  We create our own reality therefore we have the power to pick and choose what experiences we will and will not participate in. 

Unless we sincerely commit to connecting to our Higher Self/True Self the Ego will always be heard first.  Our Ego is very loud and wants to be heard.  As soon as we begin to sincerely and genuinely work towards to connecting with our Higher Self, the Ego goes into overtime and begins to work very hard to get heard and to lead us to believe what it is sharing with us is truth.    Remember in Part I we stated that our Higher Self is gentle, non judgmental, kind, caring, quiet and not pushy.  Our Ego is very pushy and its whole intent is to ensure that we do not connect with the Real Truth – from our Higher Self.  The Ego’s mission is to Edge God Out – our God Self – out of our minds.  Many of us who have been committed to working on connecting more frequently with our True Self experience loud chatter and sometimes yelling from our Ego.  Our Ego kicks into high gear.  Our job is to know and recognize when that is occurring.   How do we do that?  One of the only ways to accomplish this is by spending time quieting our mind and listening to the gentle, loving words from our Higher Self.  Unless we quiet the loud chatter of the Ego we will never hear the loving, caring words from our Higher Self.

Our minds are not used to being quiet and letting our True Self communicate with us. Why is that?  We are so preoccupied with focusing on things outside of ourselves – things of the world.  We are masters at creating distractions in our lives that prevent us from quieting our minds and going in. Take a moment to think about what you could do to quiet your mind and reconnect with your Higher Self.  Commit to that practice even if it is 5 minutes a day.  Often times we over extend and over commit and when we cannot meet our own commitment we simply discontinue our practice saying we just don’t have enough time.  This is the Ego ensuring we do not take the time to connect with our Higher Self.

Even a simple practice of saying good morning to your Higher Self each day and saying good night is the start of your connection.  Sitting at a stop light can be another opportunity to connect.  Over time you will find yourself automatically finding more and more opportunities to connect with your Higher Self.  Each time you do your connection will become deeper and longer. 

We all deserve to live a life filled with joy, peace, love and prosperity and the more we connect with our True Self – the more we will experience the pure essence of who we truly are – unconditional love, eternal joy and peace and unlimited prosperity.

As you complete the reading of this article, know that you have the Power within you to live the life you desire and deserve.  Make a sincere commitment to connect to your Higher Self – he/she is waiting!

Day 1: Perform random acts of kindness. We’re starting out with something easy, because everyone is in a position to share kindness. Whether it’s holding the door open for the elderly woman entering the bank or bringing your co-worker coffee, find little ways throughout your day to be randomly kind.

Day 2: Watch for spiritual signs. Today your assignment is to watch for signs that have a spiritual message. An angel emblem somewhere or the word “Hope” on a billboard are just a couple of ways that spiritual signs will speak to you. When you recognize a spiritual sign, acknowledge it and feel your spirits lift in response.

Day 3: Have an attitude of gratitude. When you wake up on day 3, make the choice to have a have an attitude of gratitude. Look for the good in everyone, everything and every situation and be grateful for every lesson there is to learn today.

Day 4: React from the heart. Your assignment for this day is to make every decision a heartfelt one. Throughout the day, pause before you do something and silently ask, ‘What would my heart like me to do here?’ And then listen quietly for a gentle nudge that points you in a direction. If you don’t receive a clear answer, try closing your eyes and putting your hand over your heart before asking for clarity.

Day 5: Turn routine into ritual. As you’ve noticed by now, your assignments are getting progressively more challenging. But I’m confident that you’re up to the task! Life can be very routine and mundane, which has the ability to drag you down. So today, you are going to turn routine tasks (like showering, washing the dishes, or running errands) into rituals. As you go through each segment of your day, stop for a moment and make sure that your mind is 100% on the task at hand. Instead of planning your grocery list while driving your kids to school, for example, talk to them about their day ahead and be fully present in the conversation.

Day 6: Detach from the drama. It’s so easy to get caught up in the drama of your own life as well as the lives of others, including the artificial lives on T.V. That’s why, today, you are going to detach from all of the drama. If a friend or loved one tries to pull you in, change the subject if possible or walk away if you have to. And don’t forget to turn off the T.V., or at the very least watch something uplifting. You cannot lead a spiritual life if you’re feeding on the negativity of drama!

Day 7: Visualize your desired outcome. Congratulations! You’re almost there. Your final assignment is to visualize your desired spiritual outcome for the weeks ahead. One example would be, ‘I desire to hold on to an attitude of gratitude while spreading kindness and continually being watchful for spiritual signs.’ Whatever you desire in your quest to lead a more spiritual life, hold on to that vision throughout the day.

Learning to lead a more spiritual life takes conscious effort on a daily basis. Although your experience won’t be transformed in a single day – or even a single week – if you continue to practice the techniques outlined in this article, you will experience transforming change.

If you can answer yes to that question – Fantastic!  If you find it challenging to answer yes – don’t beat yourself up over it!  Many of us struggle to love ourselves – warts ‘n’ all.  There is no blame here, just self awareness and self acceptance.

Let’s look at this another way.  There is an Ultimate Being, God, Buddha, Allah, Divine Spirit, Father Mother God, Creator, Holy Spirit, whatever your words for it, we know that there is an overall consciousness that inhabits everything.  Is a part of everything.  We can see this when we look at beautiful flowers, or landscapes, or stunning sunsets, the smell of fresh air, the taste of tasty food, the sounds of birdsong or rolling waves.  Whatever you find relaxing or beautiful is infused with God consciousness.  So when you look at, hear, feel, smell, taste, or touch these beautiful things it’s easy to feel love for them.

Having accepted that God is in everything, we also then need to accept that God is within us.  If we love God for being in everything, we also then need to love ourselves because of this.  Otherwise we are rejecting God.

Now I know that these thoughts might be pushing some buttons in people because of the word “God”.  I make no apology for that.  It’s a terminology that is easy to use to get across the concept that the Ultimate Consciousness is within us all.  Therefore Every Thing and Every One deserves to be loved by us – including ourselves.

Take some time to think more about yourself.  Start to acknowledge more the things about yourself that you do actually like.  Let go of negative thoughts about yourself that bring you down.  You love other people warts and all, try doing the same for yourself.  Take it gently, but take another step towards self love and self respect.  Start by writing a list of 50 positive things that you love about yourself.  It may take you a couple of days and that’s OK.  Take your time, but do make sure you complete it.  Once you have your list can you make it longer?  Every time you find something positive about yourself that you love or like, add it to the list and, each day.

I believe that with most of us this is an easy concept to understand. We live in an abundant universe. There is no lack of anything in this world. The only lack is one that you perceive. What is wonderful is that we can change what we want in our world and we can fill our “account” everyday by just using our words and actions to increase our positive balance.

What holds more attention is the physical giving of money, instruction or time. When one gives to a charity, you would believe it is because they are doing something worthwhile that would bring some positive results for the unfortunate or those encumbered by health or poverty type of circumstances.

It is the intention behind giving and receiving when things go astray. I usually say if you want to give do it because you are feeling that way.  If you are giving from your heart, receiving is automatic. If you are giving with the intent to receive a personal reward or benefit, then you are giving for the wrong reason.

One time I was doing some online dating. I talked to a lady who lived in Hawaii. She seemed very nice and respectable. One day we were talking and she mentioned that her son was getting married. I asked her when it was and where it would take place.  The wedding was to take place in Mexico. So I thought it would be nice for her to stop by my house. She said that she most likely may not go since she did not have the money to go there.

I know what you are thinking! Okay here comes the rip off. Save your judgments and read the rest of the story. I asked her what would it take to get you down there, she said it would cost about eight hundred dollars round trip.  I told her at that point that a mother should be there when her son is getting married. It is one of those events that you should not miss. I offered to pay for her plane fare and actually purchased the tickets for her to go. I did this from the heart.

She arrived here is Los Angeles and stayed with me and my son for two days, before resuming her trip to her son’s wedding in Mexico. The days that I spent with her I enjoyed immensely. A few days later I had heard from her and she wanted me to come to Hawaii and spend some time with her. A few days before I was to leave, she had a terrible accident at work and severely hurt her back. I told her that I will still come to see her and spend some time.

When I arrived she was in terrible shape. I almost did not recognize her. I helped her and got groceries and did some things around her house. She was very upset that she was so injured that she could not tour the island with me as she had planned. I assured her that I will entertain myself when I was not with her, which I did. I did get to spend a lot of time with her and enjoyed being there and meeting family members.

I return back to my life and she started to recover from her injuries about 6 weeks later. She was going back to work and wanted me to eventually come back to Hawaii. She went to the doctor as she was not feeling well and got some tests, the doctor informed her that she has a malignant cancer that has already spread throughout her body and she had very little time to live.

She went to her sisters for the hospice and died. You see I gave her the memory of her son’s wedding. The time that she spent with me and her son, she had told me was the best time of her life. She had danced at his wedding and was happy. This woman had two biological children and 4 adopted children. She dedicated her life to them.

I passed on my blessing in the form of money, time and companionship during her last days. I had no expectation of reward, but what I received was the gift of joy, knowing that in some way, I contributed to her happiness. That was a reward within a tragedy. I still grieve a little from time to time and miss her. I don’t remember her name but I do remember her smiling face and her playful spirit and I am so grateful for that. It really hurts just to tell this story.

You see my intent was to help. At that time I was in position to give and was not obligated, I could have dropped the relationship as soon as money came up but I decided to bless her and in turn my life was blessed. It was my intent, to give from the heart and not from some other place expecting some benefit. When one gives the receiving is automatic.

I am not always in the position to give. Sometimes it just isn’t possible. The only option is to do better in life, so that you are in position to bless others. My giving is through these writings, I receive no financial reward at all. I believe by sharing my stories that it may help someone to do better, to have a better vision of themselves and somehow that they will get blessed, as I have been.

You don’t know what your giving will do. If your heart is in the right place and you feel that it is a good thing to give, then by all means do so.  It is not the amount of money or time that you give, it is the intent. Giving is a form of passing on blessings, whether to your church, charity or cause. The receiving is always automatic.

We have allowed ourselves to become distracted by our Ego Mind and forgotten that all the answers and guidance we require comes from our Higher Self mind – our True Self.
Our Higher Self is the most perfect form of who we are. Our Higher Self is there to support us always in all ways. It is an Infinite Source of help and guidance within us. In reviewing the lessons in A Course In Miracles Daily Lesson #189 reads – I feel the love of God within me now. This lesson goes on to say: “The way to reach the God within us [our Higher Self] is merely to let our Higher Self/God Self be.” In doing so we will hear and feel the beauty of our connection to our Higher Self. Our Higher Self always desires to connect with us. Our Higher Self never goes away it is who we truly are.

Our Higher Self helps us recognize what is meaningless and what is really important to our awakening and to our enlightenment. Our Higher Self:

• Knows we are NOT here to impress others with our specialness but rather to awaken to our True Self and recognize we are all one – no one is special
• Uses every experience we have to teach us how to look beyond appearances to the innate innocence and pure Love Essence in everyone – including ourselves
• Gives us deep insight – a broader and unfiltered perspective of who we truly are – which is pure love and innocence. Our True Self never changes its mind about who we are.
• Sees through the eyes of unity and oneness. It does not see lack, guilt, fear, scarcity or separation of any kind.
• Knows [without doubt] we are changeless love

Often times when we think of our True Self we think of it as something outside or separate. We tend to feel separated from who we really are. The truth is we are our True Self we have never been separated we have merely forgotten and we have created barriers that prevent us from connecting to this loving, joyful, peaceful aspect of ourselves.

How do we know when we are listening to our Ego Mind instead of our Higher Self? If you are not experiencing peace in your life, or if you find yourself blaming someone or something in the world for your discomfort, you are making the ego thought system real in your mind. If your life experience is full of peace and joy, you are opening to the thoughts of your true, united Self.

Your true Self is patient because it knows you already are at home in Oneness and so is everyone else. Messages from your true Self you Inner Guide are quiet and peaceful. They carry an energizing and loving feeling. They do not carry an intense charge of emotion such as tension, anxiety or urgency. There is no impatience, anger or blame.

Ego messages may make you feel like you must act immediately or you will lose out or miss an opportunity to defend yourself or someone else. They carry a sense of losing or danger from an outside source.

Quiet your mind and join with your True Self in living the life you desire and deserve!

The Laws of Quantum Physics tell us that thoughts are things and you can create your own reality. We can do this because we live in an infinite ocean of thinking intelligent energy called the Quantum Ocean, or the Mind of God.

There is no time in the Quantum Ocean no past, present nor future only the NOW. Everything that ever was, is or will be exists in the Quantum Ocean NOW!

The Quantum Ocean, Mind of God responds to our thoughts. When we think about something long enough and hard enough critical mass is reached. That thought  ‘blinks out” of the un-manifested thinking energy of the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God and nto your physical reality.

How long will this manifestation take?  How long does it take the first ice crystal to manifest on a lake of water? When it reaches critical mass.

We have all kinds of information, like “The Secret,” and “What the Bleep” etc. that tell us how to be healthy, wealthy and wise. We have information on success, goal setting, motivation, Internet businesses etc. We have information on how to heal ourselves with Bach Flower Remedies, Homeopathic Remedies, Cell-Salts, Color, Reflexology etc.

The Age of Aquarius has given us the Internet as well as the Laws of Quantum Physics. We have all the information we need  to create a better life. This is good.

But is that the reason for life on planet Earth? Is that why we, as individual souls in the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God “blink out” and “blink in” of the Quantum Ocean continuously? Is there a higher purpose and goal than health, wealth and happiness? The resounding answer is “YES!”

The Creator, God, Grand Architect of the Universe, the big “G” allows man to see and know “All” that is in his mind. The Quantum Ocean was created as the Matrix or playing field where we individual Souls learn about the Mind of God. We do it slowly by learning a little more with each new incarnation.

We are here on the planet Earth to become more God-like. And the way we do it is to raise our level of consciousness higher and higher.

We have all the rules we need for creating health, wealth and happiness. Where are the rules and guiding principles for raising our level of consciousness? They are there in the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God. You just have to know where to look for them. Look to the Masters.

What is a Master?  A Master is a Soul in the Mind of God just like you and I. A Soul that has “Blinked in” and “Blinked Out” of the Quantum Ocean may times. A Soul that has learned how to raise their level of consciousness so that they are nearer the God-like state of perfection.

Some of them have reached that level of consciousness so that they choose when and where they wish to “blink out” onto the planet again.  Some remain in the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God awaiting  to help who contact them. Some have written books while in physical manifestation. Some taught only orally. Some have just a few students, some have crowds. Some have schools, temples, mountains and sacred spaces.

They are all there waiting to help you, if you ask for help. Yes by all means use the Laws of Quantum Physics, the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God to create more health, wealth and happiness in your life. But also seek out a master or two within the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God to help you on your journey to higher consciousness.

I will not tell you which ones to choose. Your Soul will guide you and tell you. Surf the net. All you need to know about who the masters are is there. Pick one or two. Print out their image and use it in your morning meditation to make contact.

They are waiting to help. It is their job, their destiny.

Oprah reading from Eckhart’s book said: “Wanting keeps the ego alive much more than having. Let’s talk about that.”

Tolle replied: “One of the main structures of the ego is it is never satisfied.”

King Solomon who had more opulence, wealth, and women than probably any man who ever lived said repeatedly “It is all vanity and vexation of spirit” (Ecclesiastes 1:14).  Solomon who also possessed great wisdom, astounded many with his sayings, perhaps including himself at such revelatory discoveries.

Solomon said, “I communed with my own heart, saying, ‘Look, I have come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me…. and I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit” (Ecclesiastes 1:16-17).

Although king Solomon enjoyed great pleasure and mirth, he also found it be utter vanity (2:1).   “And whatsoever my eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labor: and this was my portion of all my labor. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit” (2:10-11).

Truly the ego is often mistaken for ambition. A workaholic driven by ambition, seeking affirmation and recognition, can become an emotional bottomless pit. Note the use of the word “my” frequently by Solomon as he refers to “my labor”, “my hands”, “my portion”, and “my heart”. The man is totally encumbered by, enamored with, and consumed with himself. Hence being overcome by himself, or the almighty “I” (as I sometimes jokingly call it), he is incapable of enjoying life.

When we perplex, fret, worry, and excessively concern ourselves with ourselves; we separate ourselves from life itself and remove all its enjoyment entirely.

Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). When however we become possessive and allow things to possess us, we in so doing disconnect from love and life. Jesus said, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things which he possesses” (Luke 12:15).

Releasing things and giving of ourselves is mutually fulfilling. Yet far better than giving things is giving of yourself.

An ambitious and driven man given to tireless work night and day is no less fixated on himself than a wife who makes demands upon her husband. Some spouses feel it is their right to make demands stating, “You’re ‘my husband’ and I need this.”

We can no more take ownership of people than we can things. The appropriate response is to embrace the concept of stewardship, realizing that when you die you can take nothing with you. Therefore to live and love more freely, interact and move throughout the world more happily, hold on to things loosely, and love people unconditionally.

Be a steward of your spouse’s love, rather than seeking to control them and make demands as if you were entitled to something by reason of a role. Role demands just makes people in your life resentful and causes them to resist you.

If you hold a baseball bat tightly, if someone rips it out of your hands it will hurt far more than if you had held it loosely. We therefore should not seek to hold things and people too tightly. Instead we must live and let live. Flow spontaneously and enjoy the journey.

This kind of life can be rough on performer because things (sometimes small and most likely large) keep getting out of hands. By the time you fix one flaw, there are already three new ones sprouting and bursting into life on the other side of the guarded territory…

Somehow I was managing everything anyway (or, that’s what I thought), but it was a constant struggle, never ending battles and more and more defeats. At the same time I was very proud of myself for being a person who wouldn’t quit, not even when quitting would be the best choice.

Then, just at the time when by all widely accepted standards I should be settled down, well taken care of, successful in my career and mostly happy, the rock bottom hit…The impact was so enormous, that my whole world collapsed, turned into a dust and my empire, where I was the absolute ruler (even though bothered with many distractions), was wiped out. There was nothing left, except emptiness…

Naturally, I broke down completely – the sight over an infinite nothingness was so overwhelming that one Sunday after the service in the local church I started crying and couldn’t stop. That was really convenient since there were some people available and willing to listen and talk to me and they gently leaded me to the path of complete surrender.

Now, more than a year later, I’m trying to remember at all times to “let go and let God”. The urges to take things in my own hands and fix them can still be very strong from time to time. They even come accompanied by the sufficient rush of energy to work on that certain project. But my spiritual self is now aware of the fact that life is so much easier with the help of the Universe.

All we ever need to do is to enjoy life and to forgive. I find this affirmation from Your Immortal Reality by Gary R. Renard most useful:

You are Spirit.

Whole and innocent.

All is forgiven and released.

Much has changed since then, yet our spiritual ideal remains the same. We want to know what’s beyond ourselves and want to know what or who is behind it all. Where does life come from, where are we going and why are we here? One of the great challenges we face in modern living is finding a spiritual path amidst the complexities of life. It seems like we are drowning in possibilities and options and like a dog chasing it’s own tail, we are chasing ways to escape it all. More money, more success, more love, more happiness, greater influence…The irony is that we don’t need more, but less because piling on more and more will only remove us further from a sense of inner peace.

The Transcendentalists believed that living an authentic life was to live close to your Source (God) and that simplicity was the path to connecting and knowing God. In our modern life we tend to categorize everything. We have a work life, a love life, a personal life and worse of all a ‘spiritual life’. When we separate all the different aspects of ourselves what we do is to deny ourselves the synergy that comes from being a totally integrated person. To separate spirituality from your everyday life is to deny yourself the divine guidance that is available to you at all times and in everything you do.

The beliefs that come with separating your spiritual life from your everyday life, is that you are primarily a person with a soul or a spirit. The great insight however is that you are not a body with a soul, but that you are a soul with a body. Who you really are, is not your body or your mind, but your spirit – that invisible part deep down inside. Your body is nothing but a suit you have to wear in order to function in this dimension of life.

It’s so easy to lose perspective and forget your higher self in the pursuits of everyday life. Living from your higher self means that you are consciously living a spiritual life. Underneath the veil of physicality there is an infiniteness to life and there is a bigger picture. The majority of people are consumed by their sensory perceptions of life; by facts and analytical thinking. Underneath it all there is an invisible force that is the real driving force behind life.

Living from your higher self starts with the spiritual realization that you are not your body or your mind or your personality, but that you are your spirit. Through conscious growth and raising your spiritual awareness you can start to strengthen your spiritual connection. As you consciously live with the awareness of your higher self you will be able to transcend many of the trivialities of life and become self reliant. Divine guidance is available to you at all time. You simply have to look deep within yourself. You will become more able in integrating your life and all the different aspects of the life experience when you realize that all of life is spiritual.

There is an invisible, intangible yet very real part of you that is the real You. Remind yourself of this constantly and know that it is your higher self that is eternally connected to God.
