Awakening to Your Higher Self – Your True Self – Reconnect From Within Part II

In Part I we talked about who our Higher Self/True Self is, how it manifests itself and what it does.  In Part II we will begin to explore how we can discern the difference between the thoughts and voices of our Higher Self and those of our Ego. 

Our Higher Self sees through the eyes of Oneness while our Ego sees through the eyes of separation and specialness.  Our Higher Self is a source of Oneness and connects us to our True Self.  The Ego is a source of duality, conflict and disconnects us from our True Self.  Our Higher Self sees prosperity and unlimited abundance while the Ego sees scarcity, lack and limited abundance.  If our life experience is full of peace and joy, we are opening to the thoughts of our authentic, united True Self.  When we are not experiencing peace in our life, or if we find ourselves blaming someone or something in the world for our discomfort, we are making the Ego thought system real in our mind.  Our Higher Self sees us as innocent while the Ego sees us as guilty. 

What eyes are you seeing your world through – the eyes of your True Self or the eyes of your Ego?  What eyes would you prefer to see the world from?  Remember that it is our choice how we experience our world.  We create our own reality therefore we have the power to pick and choose what experiences we will and will not participate in. 

Unless we sincerely commit to connecting to our Higher Self/True Self the Ego will always be heard first.  Our Ego is very loud and wants to be heard.  As soon as we begin to sincerely and genuinely work towards to connecting with our Higher Self, the Ego goes into overtime and begins to work very hard to get heard and to lead us to believe what it is sharing with us is truth.    Remember in Part I we stated that our Higher Self is gentle, non judgmental, kind, caring, quiet and not pushy.  Our Ego is very pushy and its whole intent is to ensure that we do not connect with the Real Truth – from our Higher Self.  The Ego’s mission is to Edge God Out – our God Self – out of our minds.  Many of us who have been committed to working on connecting more frequently with our True Self experience loud chatter and sometimes yelling from our Ego.  Our Ego kicks into high gear.  Our job is to know and recognize when that is occurring.   How do we do that?  One of the only ways to accomplish this is by spending time quieting our mind and listening to the gentle, loving words from our Higher Self.  Unless we quiet the loud chatter of the Ego we will never hear the loving, caring words from our Higher Self.

Our minds are not used to being quiet and letting our True Self communicate with us. Why is that?  We are so preoccupied with focusing on things outside of ourselves – things of the world.  We are masters at creating distractions in our lives that prevent us from quieting our minds and going in. Take a moment to think about what you could do to quiet your mind and reconnect with your Higher Self.  Commit to that practice even if it is 5 minutes a day.  Often times we over extend and over commit and when we cannot meet our own commitment we simply discontinue our practice saying we just don’t have enough time.  This is the Ego ensuring we do not take the time to connect with our Higher Self.

Even a simple practice of saying good morning to your Higher Self each day and saying good night is the start of your connection.  Sitting at a stop light can be another opportunity to connect.  Over time you will find yourself automatically finding more and more opportunities to connect with your Higher Self.  Each time you do your connection will become deeper and longer. 

We all deserve to live a life filled with joy, peace, love and prosperity and the more we connect with our True Self – the more we will experience the pure essence of who we truly are – unconditional love, eternal joy and peace and unlimited prosperity.

As you complete the reading of this article, know that you have the Power within you to live the life you desire and deserve.  Make a sincere commitment to connect to your Higher Self – he/she is waiting!
